He combines a practical hands-on approach to producing creative content while still keeping an entrepreneurial overview of the creative industries.

Since his move to Birmingham, Ben has been actively involved in a number of initiatives to mentor young people and to support the work of film, TV and education in the city and further afield. Ben has also been a lead contributor in the £5m My Place lottery bid to create The Lighthouse Youth People’s Centre – a multi-purpose building to provide leisure and work facilities for young people in the Newtown area of Birmingham.

Ben is often called upon to participate as a panellist at festivals and conferences. He has produced and/or Chaired panel sessions on diversity in TV – at the prestigious Edinburgh TV Festival and the Salford Nations and Regions Conference.
